skin cancer screenings

Full-body skin cancer screening

If you’re looking to utilize Wellness funds to further support your employees’ wellbeing, consider sponsoring a Skin Cancer Screening event.

We’ll check the skin for moles, birthmarks, or other marks that are unusual in color, size, shape, or texture. Certain unusual marks may be signs of skin cancer, which can only be diagnosed via a biopsy, though if cancer is found at an early stage, it is often easier to treat.

What to Expect

Who will provide the skin cancer screening?

Skin cancer screenings are performed by a licensed MSN, FNP-C specializing in dermatology.

How long will the screening take?

Screenings take approximately 15 minutes, including completing the paperwork and checking your skin with a dermatoscope.

Which areas of the body will be screened?

This is a full-body screening done in a private setting. If the patient is concerned about any part of their body or privacy, screening can be restricted to specific areas such as exposed areas (face, neck, arms, hands, etc.)

What happens if a concern is identified?

After discussing the diagnosis and treatment, minor concerns can generally be taken care of right then and there. The treatment we offer is cryotherapy, a quick spray of liquid nitrogen that removes lesions on the skin's surface. It destroys superficial skin growths, such as warts and keratoses.

All patients are given reports at the end of each screening with all findings, normal or abnormal, and they are encouraged to follow up with their PCP.
